Vicar Fr. Norman Field
The Reverend Norm Field began his ordained ministry in 1996. His serving began here at St. Peter’s in the congregation which raised him up, and helped him to discern his call to the priesthood. His path to ordained ministry came by way of the Diocesan School of Ministry where he was locally trained. He served here from 1996 – 2005. He returned here as vicar again in 2009. In the interim he served many congregations of our diocese, including St. Peter’s, as a supply cleric.
He has spent most of his life in Waterford, where, with his wife of 42 years Joyce, has raised three daughters, Melissa, Meredith, and Melinda, now married, who have presented to him for baptism six Grandchildren, Jacob, Elijah, Garrett, Reyna, Logan, and Evelyn.
Fr. Norm is a veteran, having served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam. He has been a bi-vocational priest up until 2010 when he retired from his secular employment at Diebold Inc. where he worked as an electronic technician for 30 years.
His educational background and life experiences have prepared him to handle and be proficient at many tasks, but the work he most enjoys, and in which he finds the greatest fulfillment is in that of being a pastor.
